Really, though, Lord Baelish likes to know as much as he can about everyone.

[He switches to video. He is outside Lucy's farm, sitting on the porch as he scans the sky.]

I was told Baelish uses his mockingbird to spy on others. Have a care what you say outside.

[ Sansa is sitting in her room with fabric draped over her lap. She had been sewing before Jon's text distracted her. ]

I'm always careful, Jon. [ Or she tries to be, at least. ] What did the Kingslayer say to you exactly?

It isn't the sort of talk I should share. The same sort that Ramsay said to me of you.

[ She hums, sidetracking the conversation for a moment. ]

[Gods, why did he say that? He had forgotten for a moment Sansa didn't know the future and he damn near blurted it out.]

[ She makes a light humming noise like she doesn't quite believe him. ]

Well, whatever Jaime Lannister said must have upset you. What did you say in return?

[She's right not to believe him and they both know it.]

Nothing. Only that Lucy isn't involved in the disputes of our world.

Responding with anger would give him what he wanted.

<[ Yes, they do. Now. ]

Did he think that she would be involved somehow?

He claimed that she is involved, if only because we cannot escape the disputes of our world.

I don't intend to involve her, but it seems that she will be whether I will it or not. [He is silent a moment.] I will never understand Baelish as well as you do, Sansa. I don't know how to play his game or discern what it is he knows.

I believe he wishes me out of the way and you under his tutelage again, but I worry what he may do to Lucy if she is considered a threat.

[He can't directly ask for help, but his eyes say it all.]

[ He doesn't need to say it because she knows what he is asking without actually saying it. ]

I would need to spend time around him and you can never seem like you accept the idea. But never protest too much either.

I don't accept it. [It wouldn't take much pretending. The thought of Sansa around Baelish made his skin crawl.] I won't stop you.

[He never had. As much as he wanted to protect her, Sansa had a mind of her own and had made it clear in the past. She was a force all her own.]

[ Sansa took his concern in stride, nodding a little when he confirmed that he didn't accept that she would have to spend time with Baelish but at least she wouldn't have to worry too much about him interfering. ]

[ She ends the video call. ]
